Ceremony Award – Four events for the same goal: bring awareness about global challenges!

With different rhythms, the 4 national comic competitions came to an end, and in all countries it was possible to enjoy a Winners‘ Ceremony with the presentation of the best works received, prize giving and also participation in artistic workshops. 

On February 5th, the ceremony took place in Prague, which, being the earliest one, happened in a hybrid format, due to the threat of COVID-19. It was attended by 15 participants. Organized by ADRA Czech Republic team, it counted with the presence of the author Petr Kopl, who offered an artistic workshop, with books of his authorship being part of the award showcase. This ceremony took place at Café Prostoru, where the winners‘ works were displayed.

In Portugal, in a milder pandemic climate, the ceremony took place in the Marvila Municipal Library, which had also hosted the Climate Change Exhibition. There were 24 participants who came from all over the country to see the winners of the comic book competition receive their awards, watch the exhibition of their work, as well as participate in the bookbinding workshop by the author and illustrator Marco Taylor, who is also a sponsor of the project. 

A bit later, in the city of Warsaw, the ceremony for the winners was organized in the Main Library of Warsaw and Mazovian Voivodship. It was partly held by the director of ONZ UNIC/Warsaw Mariola Ratschka and the established author – Berenika Kołomycka, who also carried out a comic workshop after the official part of the ceremony. Winners got comic books funded by Timof Comics publishing house – partner of Polish edition of the competition and art supplies. The exhibition and the vernissage were associated event of Warsaw of Comics Festival May 2022 edition.
